What is an element?
Ans:
An element is a substance which cannot be broken down into two or more simpler substances using chemical methods.
Every element is represented by a unique symbol of one of two letters. The periodic table cassifies the elements according to their chemical properties, woth two distinct groups, metal and non metal. Each vertical column is called a group. Each horizontal row is called a period. Elements in period from left to right show a gradual change from high atomic size to low atomic size.
